In conjunction with 60th Anniversary of Malaysia-Japan Diplomatic Relations, the Tourism Malaysia Osaka has launched a special tour to KL from June 29 to July 3, 2017. As a highlight of the tour, the members of Ikenobo will demonstrate and exhibit the Japanese flower arrangement art, ikebana, at Pavilion KL from June 30 to July 2, 2017, on the occasion of the 6th Anniversary of Tokyo Street.
The Ikenobo Ikebana exhibition, which is one of the biggest Ikenobo exhibitions outside of Japan, showcases 100 pieces of floral art at Pavilion KL and will organise the Ikebana arrangement workshops for public partipation.
The special tour to KL is led by Mrs. Senko Ikenobo, the headmaster designate of Ikenobo and joined by 90 Ikenobo members from Japan. They are also joined by other members from Malaysia and neighbouring countries for the Ikenobo Ikebana exhibition at Pavilion KL and other event in Malacca after the exhibition. Ikenobo has a long history and is celebrating its 555 years this year.
