We all have our days when we’re just not feeling our best. Maybe we had a late night out, or had a rough night’s sleep, or maybe we’re just generally tired and the telltale signs are beginning to show.
7 Easy Tricks to Looking Fresh
1. Use Mascara
When you curl your lashes and apply mascara, this makes you eyes appear larger and awake. No droopy eyes!
2. Add Colour to Your Eye Liner
Layer your liner to add a pop of colour and make your eyes look a little more vibrant. Line your eyes with your usual black or brown liner, and then follow-up with a vibrant blue or green, or any shade of colour. This adds a highlight effect and reduces the appearances of dimness or shadows.
3. Line Your Lower Lashes in a Nude Tone
Don’t use black or brown. Using a nude town (beige/cream) will hide redness and also look very natural, making your eyes appear brighter!
4. Arch Your Eyebrows
Filling in your eyebrows with a soft shade and enhancing your natural arch will give your eyes an automatic lift. It will also distract from your tired eyes, puffiness, dark circles and redness. Well groomed eyebrows are essential.
5. Create that Flawless Base
Even out your complexion and skin tone (even under the eye) and give yourself a natural glow. This is perfect for days when concealer alone isn’t doing the trick. Apply a dewy foundation that has a little bit of a sheen (not matte) which will reflect light and give you a brightened look.
6. Add Colour to Your Cheeks
Give yourself that natural flush but avoid shades that are too orange – this will make your eyes look even more tired. Shades that have a little bit of a gold hue and pinky undertones will work best (think Nars Orgasm Blush), as it counteracts the blue tones and gives your cheeks a gorgeous look.
7. Exfoliate Your Skin
If your skin’s starting to look a little dull and grey, use an exfoliating scrub to get rid of dead skin cells.
