The inaugural Asia Beauty & Wellness Awards 2017 was launched recently to recognise the leaders and upcoming companies and individuals who are game changers in the health, beauty and wellness communities in the region. With new trends emerging and the demand for the very best service and products increasing, it is crucial to establish leading lights of this dynamic and vibrant industry.
This prestigious awards programme creates a convergence of the top market players, wellness entrepreneurs and practitioners within the region. It provides an amazing platform for networking opportunities, leadership sharing and a showcase of the wellness industry’s latest trends and developments. Nominees will be vetted in across several criteria including brand definition, management standards, professionalism, customer service, quality of product/service, sustainability, corporate social responsibility and innovation. The judging process will also include a site visit to the operating premises and interview with the founder/management team of the nominee company.
The awards are divided into three main sections:
- Companies/Brands,
- Wellness Personalities, and
- Special Achievements.
Companies/Brands will see nominees from multiple products and services-based categories such as Best Spa & Wellness Centre, Best Destination Spa, Best Traditional Treatment, Best Ayurvedic Centre, Best in Medical Tourism and Most Celebrated Brand.
Wellness Personalities will see nominations of individuals from around Asia vying for the top title in exciting categories such as Top 10 Wellness-preneurs, Well-ness Personality of the Year and even the region’s Best Spa Therapist! Special Achievements awards will also be given out to notable winners from five key categories – Medical, TCM, Natural, Healing and Health.
Throughout the administration of the awards, stringent monitoring and documentation of every step of the process is emphasised to ensure the authenticity of nominees and that standard operating procedures are met and executed according to pre-set standards. All personnel assigned to the project, including Advisory Board, Panel of Judges, Award Committee and support staff are provided with comprehensive information for execution effectiveness and efficiency.
An Advisory Panel has been created to support the Awards Committee to ensure unbiased opinions on the winning companies, individuals, properties, brands, treatments or products. The panel comprises of notable personalities and experts who have impeccable track records in unique niches within the wellness and beauty industries including Atilia Haron (Malaysia), Dee Dee Mahmood (Singapore), Dr. Andrea (Bali), Sarina Sundara Rajah (Malaysia), Shobie Malani (Malaysia), Jojo Struys (Malaysia) and Carey Ng (Malaysia).
