Y Eau de Toilette, by Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, was unveiled last year. Inspired by the man behind the brand and his freewheeling, innovative spirit, the fragrance was bold, fresh and youthful.
For 2018, YSL unveils the latest addition to the family, Y Eau de Parfum. A stronger, more intense take on Y; the bottle is darker, featuring a deep black fade out, the juice is an intense white and dark fougère, and the new face is the absolute demonstration of Y’s creative, innovative spirit.
Created by legendary perfumer Dominique Ropion, Y Eau de Parfum is built around a structure of fougère, among the most prevalent family in masculine fragrance, contrasted with fresh citrus and aromatic notes followed by more sensual woody notes.
A new take on the fougère form, Y represents two key items in the YSL man’s wardrobe – the classic white T-shirt and the iconic black jacket. The start of the scent is fresh, a tangy and explosive duet of bergamot and ginger. A freshness contrasted and emphasized by a fruity, juicy and crunchy green apple. Sage and juniper combined with mint redraw a powerful masculinity boosted by an elegant duet of geranium essence and absolute providing freshness and contrast. The background of the scent is more intense, more sensual, more masculine with the addition of amber woods that reinforces the mysterious depth of olibanum and Tonka bean.
