We’ve heard of highlights and lowlights, and now we’d like to introduce snowlights. Sounds wintery and cold and the first colours that pop into our mind are icy blue or frosty white.

It’s hard to keep up with the ever shifting trends! Didn’t we just say hello to rainbow hair? To ombre and balayage highlights? Well ladies, say hello to snowlights – a new trend for blondes. I guess at times, they do have more fun eh?

The term comes from the way the highlights are done to your head of hair, imagine snowflakes falling on your head – they’re sprinkled all around and are spread out.

It’s less than half a head of highlights that start from the crowd of the head and is dyed outwards in a snowflake shape. The method was devised by senior colourist Chloe Ascott of London salon Hare & Bone.

You can spot this look on celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Jennifer Lawrence.

Blogger Chrissabella tested out the treatment and documented it on her site.

One of the best parts of this look is the subtle shade and the illumination it provides – you don’t have to worry about the tone being too bright or sticking our like a sore thumb when hair regrowth happens. It provides a natural look and is said to be one of the hottest trends of the season, so watch out for snowlights!

Probably the closest we’ll get to seeing snow in Malaysia 😀
