Herbal Essences has partnered with Watsons Malaysia for the “Forests for Good” initiative that will see they restore forests across Malaysia, starting from the State of Perak. Consumers are able to support this initiative by simply purchasing Herbal Essences products at Watsons and adopting trees of their own.
As part of P&G’s efforts across the Asia, Middle East & Africa (AMA) region to actively protect nature by planting trees that help improve local biodiversity ecosystems, this “Forests for Good” initiative was born out of the intention to improve the environment while also fulfilling the people’s demand for more green solutions. This initiative is inspired by the Greening Malaysia Programme, a 100 Million Trees Planting Campaign to help preserve the country’s biological diversity while improving the quality of the environment and rivers.
P&G has partnered with social enterprise and provider of the technology – EcoMatcher that provides full transparency on its tree-planting projects. Utilising blockchain technology that increases traceability, consumers can visit P&G Forests For Good campaign page to stay updated on the tree planting progress while tracking and measuring their estimated environmental impact.
Here’s how you can participate and adopt your trees:
- Step 1: Purchase 3 bottles of Herbal Essences bio:renew from any Watsons retail store or online store.
- Step 2: Receive an SMS from Watsons containing a unique code and link to Watsons’ Forests for Good page to learn more about the campaign.
- Step 3: Link to P&G Forests For Good campaign page and create an account. Adopt your tree and name it!
- Step 4: Collect more trees by purchasing more Herbal Essences products and track your environmental impact.
The repackaged Herbal Essences bio:renew range, featuring an all-natural blend of botanicals sustainably sourced from real plants while boasting a PETA cruelty-free and vegan formulation. It is also free from nasties such as parabens, colourants, and silicones to ensure hair is perfectly nourished without being subject to harmful ingredients. In its fight against free-radical damage, the bio:renew range is further powered by corn-derived histidine to help restore your locks to its smooth and lustrous prime. The presence of histidine removes copper ions from hair and precludes these copper ions from participating in oxidative reactions leading to the formation of hair-damaging free radicals.
To minimise plastic waste, each 400ml Herbal Essences bio:renew bottle is recyclable and made from 25% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials. It is also PETA Cruelty-Free certified, as the formulations do not contain any animal-derived ingredients or by-products in the manufacturing process and are not tested on animals.
The Herbal Essences bio:renew range comprises 12 variants of shampoo and conditioner that revitalises hair for flouncy, silky, and nourished perfection. The range is available at Watsons in-store and online nationwide as well as in major departmental stores.
