In a world where the beauty of nature is often taken for granted, L’OCCITANE Malaysia stands as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards a more inclusive and compassionate society. Since 2018, their Race For Vision charity fun run has been a testament to their unwavering commitment to fighting avoidable blindness and empowering communities in need.
This year’s event, held at Dataran MAEPS in Serdang, was a remarkable display of unity and determination. Despite the unforeseen challenges presented by nature, the runners, driven by an unyielding spirit of kindness and compassion, persevered, turning the event into a resounding success.
The presence of visually impaired friends from the Malaysian Association For the Blind (MAB) added a touch of poignancy to the event. Their resilience and unwavering optimism served as a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusivity and the transformative power of support.
A heartwarming donation of RM80,000 was presented to Pertubuhan Mata Kasih KL, a testament to the race’s success in raising funds to support eye care services for underserved communities in Sabah and Johor. This generous contribution will enable the organization to conduct eye screenings and provide glasses prescriptions, bringing the gift of sight to those who need it most.
Including this year’s donation, L’OCCITANE Malaysia has proudly contributed over RM1.4 million over the past 14 years, directly impacting the lives of more than 50,000 Malaysians. Their efforts have provided essential eye care services, including eye screenings, spectacles, cataract surgeries, training, and various other eye-care related tools, transforming the lives of those in need.
The race concluded on a joyous note with a lucky draw session, thanks to the generosity of numerous sponsors, rewarding participants with prizes worth over RM12,000.
