Today, Rouge Dior is reinventing itself again, exploring new techniques with two ways to play with your smile that once again demonstrates the expertise of Dior, as a “colour creator.” Peter Phillips, Creative & Image Director for Dior Makeup revealed the 2 new Rouge Dior innovations to play with your smile which is the Dior Rouge Liquid and Rouge Dior Double Rouge!
The new Dior Rouge Liquid is the first luscious ink with intense couture colour which provide vibrant matte, satin and metallic finishes, intense colour, lightness, coverage, and long wear, in no way compromise comfort and finesse.
“It’s true that I love extreme colours like true reds, and blacks, but here, I was fascinated by the challenge to create faux-natural shades. Thinking of the numerous women who wear rosewood, I endeavoured to build a palette that moves subtly from beige to an almost chocolate pink. Depending on the natural colour of the lips and the skin tone, Dior Rouge Liquid provides a natural, chic look,” said Peter Philips, Creative & Image Director for Dior Makeup.
And the 20 shades are categorized according to 4 different audacious and couture nuances such as Liquid Rock Matte, Liquid Electric Metal, Liquid Pop Satin and Liquid Velvet Nude.

Out of these 20 shades, Peter Philips recommends these 4 extreme shades to let you get creative with the colour combinations!
Then, you have the Rouge Dior Double Rouge, Dior’s 1st Matte Metallic Lipstick that comes in a dual-textured stick that delivers an ombré effect in one single application, thanks to its highly pigmented matte outer ring combined with a metallic core that catches the light.
For Double Rouge, Peter Philips creates 4 colour families: fun and sophisticated reds, cheerful corals, electric purple pinks, and nudes that flatter every style of beauty. Altogether there are 12 shades!
It took up to 16 attempts to find the perfect balance for certain shades (even the strongest
contrasts look subtle on application), and four months to adjust the formula and perfect each stick.
“I really like the innovative sixties spirit of Double Rouge, a charming lipstick that provides an astonishing make-up finish,” explains Peter Philips. “The hard part was identifying the right combination of a darker, matte outer ring and a lighter, iridescent metallic core, which highlights the curve of the lip and therefore simulates volume. It’s an on-the-go product that’s easy to wear and yet capable of producing a make-up result that’s worthy of the pros.”
