Famous makeup artist, Nick Barose created this beautiful red carpet look for Lancôme Ambassadress, Lupita Nyong’o for her Queen of Katwe London Film Festival premiere. Nick took inspiration from Lupita’s multi-colored outfit from Rosie Assoulin and gave her this colourful makeup which complemented her outfit flawlessly.
A tip from Nick Barose on how to use bold colours on your eyes.
“Easiest way to wear few bold colours on your eyes is to keep it in small doses like eyeliner and keep the two colour within the same family like we used blue and green here so it’s different enough but not too much contrast between the two colours.”
Here’s a breakdown on how to get Lupita’s red carpet look:
SKIN:
He prepped her skin with Lancôme Énergie de Vie day cream, then dabbed La Base Pro Pore Eraser Oil Free on her T-Zone to control shine but still maintaining the glow. He applied the Miracle Cushion foundation in 550 to even out her skin. Effacernes concealer was used under her eys. Then, he added the Teint Miracle Pressed powder in 550 on her T-Zone. Lastly, he dabbed some Blush Subtil Palette in Rum Raisin on the apples of her cheeks.
EYES:
First, he filled in her brows with Sourcils Gel in Noir. Then, lined her upper lashline and wing it out a bit with Lancôme Drama Liqui Pencil in Pacific , before adding a blue liner using the Grandiose Limited Edition Liner in Cote d’Azur on her bottom lash lines. Lastly, he added a few coats of Grandiose Waterproof mascara in Black.
LIPS:
He applied L’Absolu Rouge Serenade (104) , a ripe papaya orange lip colour that worked with all the colours in her outfit. He applied it directly from the rouge to get smoothness and intensity, then he glossed it with the Juicy Shaker in Wonder Melon.
