Amorepacific Malaysia which owns popular cosmetics brands such as Laneige, Sulwahsoo, Etude House, Innisfree, Mamonde, Ryo and Amos Professional – will be embarking on the ‘makeup your Life’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme for the first time this year for 80 cancer patients and survivors in collaboration with the Breast Cancer Foundation.
The ‘makeup your Life’ programme is Amorepacific’s global CSR effort to reach out to cancer patients in giving them a boost of self-confidence after the side effects of their treatments. In this programme, cancer patients and survivors will be taught skincare and makeup techniques, grooming as well as health tips so that they will regain their self-confidence and feel good about themselves again.
This programme is also part of a ‘20 by 20’ initiative by Amorepacific, which represents its commitment to beautifying the lives of 200,000 women by contributing to their health, wellbeing and economic development. Moreover, by joining the UN-led movement called Every Women Every Child, Amorepacific carries out their obligation to the fullest as a responsible global citizen thereby contributing to A MORE Beautiful World.
‘makeup your Life’ will be a fun-filled educational event that will include a skincare and makeup class as well as healthy lifestyle tips featuring Stailoz and Consultant Dietitian, Indra Balaratnam. The ‘makeup your Life’ programme has been conducted since 2008 starting with South Korea and later extended to the other regions which include China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand.
“As a beauty company, we hope to be able to help make a difference in people’s lives by helping them restore confidence through sharing of tips on skincare, makeup and a healthy lifestyle,” said Margaret Chin, Country Manager of Amorepacific Malaysia.
The shared goal of enriching cancer patient and survivors’ lives has created a partnership between Amorepacific Malaysia and the Breast Cancer Foundation. Both parties will join hands on 3 August 2019 to host the ‘makeup your Life’ event for cancer patients.
“The Breast Cancer Foundation has organized many activities, over the years, for breast cancer patients and warriors, where we advocate that there is life after cancer. We are honoured to have the privilege of being part of our warriors’ journey. The upcoming ‘makeup your Life’ event is definitely one of them. It’s an exciting project for us at the Foundation and we look forward to hosting all our patients and warriors,” said Puan Sri Dato’ Azrene Abdullah, Chairman of Breast Cancer Foundation.
