Glow Gen, a minimalist skincare brand that is fuss free, functional for sensitive skin, has recently launched its first range of clean, vegan and cruelty-free products — the Glow Gen Balancing + Perfecting Serum and Pink Clay Purifying Facial mask.
Founded by an Australian-Malaysian couple, Ruth and her husband Kevin Lim. Ruth, a former branding and e-commerce consultant for beauty start-ups in Australia, developed Glow Gen’s two products to meet her sensitive skin needs.
“My skin went nuts after I moved to Malaysia to be with my husband during the pandemic owing to a mix of masks, changes in climate, and other factors. I did everything for 18 months to control the breakouts, including medication, facials, and consultations with a skin specialist, but none of it worked. So I drew on my beauty industry experience to design a solution that really ticked all my boxes,” Ruth said.
Glow Gen doesn’t promise overnight miracles, misleading claims or aggressive use of active ingredients. Its dermatologist-approved formulas for sensitive skin are powered by the gentlest blemish-fighting active ingredients that have demonstrated benefits in clinical trials. An homage to the founders Malaysian and Australian roots, Glow Gen’s formulations are also incorporating ingredients that are effective and bio-compatible like Hibiscus and Mangosteen from Malaysia; Kakadu plum, and tea tree from Australia. Glow Gen is free from common irritants, common allergens, added fragrances and animal-derived ingredients that are known to trigger more common skin allergies and reactions.

(Which is rare for clay masks to have as they tend to leave a dry and tightening sensation on the skin).
Essential Mask Brush (RM20)
This dual-headed brush is designed to make mask application and removal a breeze. Featuring ultra-soft silicone brushes to break away the clay’s surface on the skin during removal and can gently exfoliate when desired.
