Ever since its creation in 2006, the L’OCCITANE Foundation has been committed to projects that promote women’s leadership in Burkina Faso, the land of shea butter. About 17,000 Burkinabe women gather shea nuts and transform them into a rich, intensely creamy fair trade-approved butter that we all love. This year, L’OCCITANE celebrates these heroes by featuring their craft in the Shea Violet Solidarity Balm, specially-created to raise funds for gender equality and take a stand in supporting women’s leadership.
Bright and bold in African wax prints, the tin features designs that decorate the clothes of Burkinabe women, this multipurpose balm contains 98% fair trade shea butter, and is accentuated with a powdery violet scent.
This multi-purpose balm is perfect for dry skin that needs an intense nourishment, or to swipe onto your lips to keep them soft and smooth.
100% of profits* from the sales of the Shea Violet Solidarity Balm will be donated towards women’s leadership to support the UN Women Fund for Gender Equality.
*Retail price in stores minus taxes, transport and production costs.
Through this partnership with UN Women, the L’OCCITANE Foundation aims to broaden the scope of its involvement by supporting two areas covered by the Fund of Gender Equality: women’s economic and political empowerment. Since 2009, the Fund has supported 120 programmes in 80 countries, touching the lives of more than 10 million women, with a focus on the objective of “achieving a more equal world, a 50-50 planet, where women and girls can freely exercise their leadership in all areas of public, economic and political life”.
The L’OCCITANE Limited Edition Shea Violet Solidarity Balm retails for RM25 (20g) and is available ONLINE & selected Klang Valley Boutiques (Mid Valley, One Utama, Pavilion and KLCC) only.
