Global prestige skincare brand SK-II is ushering in a new era for its iconic PITERA™ essence with the grand opening of its first-ever concept store in the world at Mid Valley Megamall Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This innovative retail space offers a complete reimagining of the SK-II shopping experience, allowing customers to delve into the brand’s heritage and discover the science behind PITERA™ in a truly immersive way.
Stepping into the SK-II Concept Store is like stepping into a sanctuary dedicated to the transformative power of PITERA™. The store delicately recreates the brand’s rich history, starting with the legendary tale of sake brewers’ hands and the subsequent discovery of PITERA™ over four decades ago.
Every detail is thoughtfully curated to bring the story of PITERA™ to life. Natural materials and artistic design elements showcase the brand’s Japanese heritage, while a specially designed product discovery area celebrates the craftsmanship behind SK-II’s innovative PITERA™ formulas. This area features a unique tester bar inspired by Sugidama balls, representing the time-honoured fermentation process, while art pieces crafted by a Shiga ceramist visually represent the unique benefits of each iconic SK-II skincare line. Even the store’s sensory experience is carefully considered, with subtle scents of Japanese cypress, Hinoki wood, and sandalwood creating a calming and luxurious atmosphere.
Inspired by the Japanese concept of omotenashi, or “wholehearted hospitality,” the store introduces the SK-II Skin Ceremony. This personalised consultation service, led by SK-II skin experts, treats skincare as a ritual, pampering customers with the care and respect their skin deserves.
The grand opening of the SK-II Concept Store on June 22nd featured appearances from some of Southeast Asia’s most prominent beauty influencers, as well as a special guest appearance by SK-II’s global ambassador, MINA from the global girl group TWICE. MINA shared about her affinity with the brand and engaged with fans in a fanmeet session.
The SK-II Concept Store is now open at G-095, Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The store is open daily from 10am to 10pm.
