The sun is the #1 enemy of the skin. Too much time in the sun can cause dark spots, wrinkles, premature aging and ultimately can lead to skin cancer. When it comes to skin cancer prevention, we can take some precautions such as Minimize UV damage, prevent DNA damage and protect skin from the environment that is harmful to our skin health.
If you do go into the sun, don’t forget to check the areas that get the most sun exposure, such as scalp, back of the neck, hands, feet, and the bridge of the nose. Apply Sunscreen with at least SPF30, about 30 minutes before going outside — and reapply it throughout the day. Wear fabrics that allow your skin to breathe properly, like linen and cotton. Spandex and Lycra are comfortable, but they may trap sweat, congest pores, and cause breakouts on your back or neck.

Light from your computer screen and infrared light can also cause free radical damage and aging. Choose a sunscreen that can protect your skin against the full spectrum of harmful rays.

Drink plenty of water or a sports drink. When your skin is not properly hydrated, it will appear more wrinkled, dry, and damaged. It’s important to use products that help your skin replenish its own moisture barrier.
