Glamglow masks are super popular in the beauty world with its star product, Youthmud™ Tinglexfoliate Treatment, named as the World’s Best Mask at one point. Another popular product is the chrome face mask that was trending all over social media which is the Gravitymud™ Firming Treatment.
As someone who has not tried any of the Glamglow masks, these masks piqued my curiosity for sure, does it live up to its World’s Best Mask title? Which is why I’m dropping this Tried & Tested review on these two masks for you today.
Youthmud™ Tinglexfoliate Treatment, RM295 (50g)
Originally designed as a 10-minute professional ‘facial in a jar’ for behind-the-scenes use in Hollywood’s Entertainment, Music, Fashion & Award industries. Youthmud™ provides gentle resurfacing exfoliation and helps to leave skin smoother, brighter, and softer resulting in an immediate camera-ready glowing skin. It’s also paraben-free, vegan, natural and suitable for all skin types and gender.
It contains Volcanic Rock, French Sea Clay and Active Green Tea Leaves that absorbs impurities without removing your skin’s natural oils, protect your skin against free radical damage and restore your skin’s youthful appearance.
Since it’s a Tinglexfoliate Treatment, you will feel a tingling sensation the moment you apply this on your face, to me it wasn’t an uncomfortable feeling but if you have really sensitive skin, it’s best to be cautious. The tea leaves may give the mask a slightly ickier look and initially, I thought it was seaweed. After leaving it on for 10 minutes, I splashed some water to wet the mask and gently massage my face as I am washing it off to exfoliate my skin even further.
My skin was brighter and my pores seem to be less congested, pores were not as obvious too. I like how it wasn’t overly drying so my skin didn’t feel too taut. I’m actually camera-ready!
Gravitymud™ Firming Treatment, RM295 (40g)
Gravitymud™ Firming Treatment is an Out of This World Innovative Peel Off Mud treatment that instantly leaves skin feeling firmer and more lifted. Mega-Targeted ingredients such as TEAOXI™ Marshmallow + Licorice Leaf help to make your skin look and feel firmer.
I guess its selling point is where the mask transforms from White to Brilliant Chrome.
Using the brush provided, apply the mask all over your face, avoiding your eye area, eyebrows and hairline since you’ll be peeling it off. There was no tingling sensation so it was a comfortable mask to use. The mask was left on for 20 minutes and it dries into a chrome finish. You can tell that I like looking a chrome princess from space.
My favourite part, the peeling process. Too bad I couldn’t peel the entire mask off in one shot but I like that it was painless and did not tug on my skin.
I did not see any major difference in this mask but maybe my face looked a little less bloated than before? However, I did feel a bit of tightness as the mask is drying.
My Verdict
For me, the winner was the Glamglow Youthmud™ but whether it deserved the World’s Best Mask title, I’m still on the fence since I have only used it once and there are still many masks out there that I have yet to explore. While, the Glamglow Gravitymud™ mask didn’t really made a difference to my skin, compared to the Youthmud™ except adding an element of fun when you get to slowly peel the chrome layer off your face and rest assured, the peeling process was painless and it didn’t manage to grab hold of any of my blackheads or whiteheads, sadly. Another caveat was the amount of mask in each jar, I don’t expect a full jar but I was surprised that only half the jar was filled with the mask, for the price you’re paying for, it doesn’t feel like a good deal.
