Starhill Gallery, in collaboration of Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, will host the 9th Asia’s Premier Timepiece and Jewelry Showcase, A Journey Through Time, over 8-day from November 20-27, 2015 at its premium shopping and lifestyle premise situated at the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
A press conference was held at Starhill Gallery last Friday, November 13, with the attendance of Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Hj. Azizan Noordin, Deputy Director General (Promotions) of Tourism Malaysia, together with Mr. Joseph Yeoh, Vice President of YTL Land & Development Bhd, TYL Hotels & Properties, to launch the 8-day showcase, A Journey Through Time IX. A preview of some participating watch and jewelry collections was also showcased to the media and guests during the press conference.
The Eight-day Event Highlights
Featuring Over 125 International Brands
As one of the longest running events of its kind in Asia, A Journey Through Time IX, will feature over 125 international watch, jewelry and lifestyle brands including collections from Bedat & Co., Breguet, Cecil Purnell, Hermes, HYT, Jaeger-Lecoultre, Maitres Du Temps, Moritz Grossmann, Muhle-Glashutte, Omega, Speake-Marin and Zeitwinkel. Exquisite jewelry brands on display with special collections include Carrera y Carrera, Ceres, Emperor’s Fine Jewels and Gubelin, Mouawad. Omega watch will also exhibit the limited edition James Bond collection for the first time in Malaysia.
In conjunction with the showcase, Patek Philippe, Cortina Watch and HYT will also inaugurate their new boutiques, respectively, at Starhill Gallery. Furthermore, the event will unveil an exclusive collaboration with iconic British designer, Julien Macdonald, to feature his latest collection from London Fashion Week and couture pieces.
Public Workshop by Watchexperts
The 8-day event will also present seven public workshops led by horologists, experienced collectors and brand experts covering a wide range of topics about the art of watch making and appreciation.
International Artistes’ Performances
To make this year’s event more entertaining, international artistes such as British pop-idol Gareth Gates will be performing at the Opening Gala on November 22, whilst British-born mezzo-soprano Carly Paoli and renowned Italian tenor Alessandro Safina are set to captivate at the Closing Gala on November 27.
Gala Nights and High-tea Jewelry Showcases
Another much anticipated highlight of the event is the specially hosted gala nights and high-tea jewelry showcases by luxurious brands in Starhill Gallery including Bedat & Co’s Gala Night on November 21, Gubelin’s Gala Night on November 24, Mouawad’s jewelry High-Tea on November 23 and Carrera y Carrera’s Jewelry High-Tea on November 26.
Starhill Gallery’s Watch of the Year
The 8-day event will come to a grand finale with Starhill Gallery’s Watch of the Year Awards on November 27, 2015. Nominated brands will have a chance to be crowned the best of 2015 under seven (7) award categories i.e. Favourite Ladies’ Watch, Favourite Men’s Watch, Watch with Complications in Movements, Timeless Jewelry Watch, the YTL Spirit of Classical Art, The Judges’ Choice and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia – Most Revered Award.
