MEN’S SPRING 2015 COLLECTION
This Spring is all about the stripe. Inspired by the horizontal geographic lines of latitude coordinates, the Spring 2015 Men’s collection reinterprets nautical in a more graphic way. The palette is grounded in Navy and White, with bold pops of colour throughout. It is modern and clean, and provides perfect wardrobe essentials for the warmer months ahead.
“Stripes are quintessential to the Nautica brand, which takes patterns to new levels and unexpected places, for a fresh new look.”Creative Director, Chris Cox
Influenced by the idea of chartering a boat and setting sail to multiple tropical destinations, abstract floral prints, photographic images and color blocking are incorporated throughout, making a big statement on swimwear. Swim trunks are shorter, drawstring waists are back, and bright color is splashed all over. White denim and red chinos make for great pant options, along with relaxed linen bottoms. Raw denim is introduced to the collection in a tapered fit for a dressier ensemble, pairing nicely with gingham wovens, or chambray shirts.
Printed floral pants are a standout piece and work well with breezy linen shirts. Corduroy is seen in a novel way – on drawstring shorts, and looks great when paired with striped tees, henleys or zip sweaters. Unique combinations of stripes can be seen on t-shirts, with interesting pocket detailing, or in the lining of hoodies and on the collars of polo shirts. Sleek vertical stripes are found on swim trunks and wovens, creating a modern, nautical feel. Activewear makes its appearance in a jogger knit pant and cargo sweatpant, and when paired with a woven shirt, makes for a cool, active sportswear look.
