Getting to the gym takes a little bit of effort but once you’re there and in you’re in workout-mode, there’s no stopping that inner beast.

1. Boost your strength training. Work on opposing muscle groups, so if you’ve done a bunch of reps to work on your biceps, do a set that also works on your triceps. Also don’t spend too much time in the weight room, you should try to get your whole body moving and if that means doing a little bit of aerobics or a sprint in between sessions, do that.

2. Be in a positive head space. You’ve heard this before, pushing your limits when you’re working out is a mental game. So many times, we tell ourselves “that’s enough, my thighs are burning, I CAN’T DO ANY MORE” and this is one of the worst mindsets to have when you’re trying to achieve a fitness goal.

You need to focus on your form, on your technique, and ensure the right muscles are engaged. Tell yourself you can do this.

3. Do you do spin class? This one’s for you. Don’t think this group-cycling class for granted, you can actually burn a whole lot of calories while toning your core and lower body. But you need to ensure you’re in the right form, else that workout isn’t going to do much for you. Watch out for that hunch, that’s not the form you want.

4. Do yoga? Make sure you focus. Remember breathing is essential, keep it easy and steady. Find your zen and focus on every single pose. Keep your core engaged and don’t let distractions take over.
