Kamehameha! With the recent announcement of Dragonball Z’s Son Goku as the ambassador for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics that already got us very excited about what other anime characters are joining him. So ladies and gentlemen, meet the first group of anime ambassadors of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics!
Astro Boy, Sailormoon, Shin-chan, Luffy from One Piece, Naruto, Jibanyan from Yo-Kai Watch, Son Goku from Dragonball Z and, Cure Miracle and Cure Magical from Maho Girls PreCure are ready to greet you at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
We grew up watching the iconic Astro Boy, Sailormoon, Shin-chan, Luffy, Naruto and Son Goku on TV after school so it’s definitely nostalgic. Though there are fans who mention that they should have chosen more sports-related anime characters to be the ambassadors for the games, not to worry, they are revealing more anime ambassadors to join their lineup as we countdown to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
You can already get your hands on the official goods at the Tokyo 2020 online shop. T-shirts and caps anyone?
Who would you like to see as a 2020 Tokyo Olympics ambassador? We’re hoping for a samurai character (aka Ruroni Kenshin or historical-based figures such as Nobunaga Oda), Pokemon and Digimon too!
