The Shape of Water, a fantasy drama film that takes place at a top secret research facility in the ’60s where a lonely janitor forms a unique relationship with an amphibious creature that is being held in captivity, took home trophies for Best Picture, Best Director, Production Design and Original Score at the 90th Academy Awards after being nominated for 13 Oscars.
Jordan Peele created history as he became the first African American to win Best Original Screenplay for satirical thriller Get Out. A well-deserved win goes to Gary Oldman who won Best Actor for his interpretation of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour while Frances McDormand snagged the Best Actress award for her splendid performance in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
