World renowned pianist, Richard Clayderman made his way to Malaysia as part of his 40th Anniversary World Tour to perform at the Plenary Hall, KLCC on 16th November 2018.
Richard Clayderman aka The Prince Of Romance performed his popular hit, “Ballade Pour Adeline”, along with covers of soundtracks from famous movies such as La La Land, Star Wars, Titanic, and more which you can catch a snippet of in our Instastories Highlight.
Opening the concert, was a string quartet that won a contest organised by Starline Productions and Yamaha, the quartet mesmerised guest and put them in great spirits to
receive Richard Clayderman as he took to the stage and took the audience on a musical
journey that takes a closer look of him on the road entertaining numerous people that has seen Clayderman entertain them in over 80 countries.
He also gave the sheet notes to his adoring fans after every song he performed.
In closing, Clayderman’s address to the audience was he was happy to perform in Kuala
Lumpur and he hoped to come back again to bring the magic of music to them before closing with the “Paris Medley” getting the audience on their feet, clapping their hands, and
snapping their fingers along with the beat. Playing alongside Clayderman, was a 12-piece string band, giving life to each song as Clayderman brought to life the music that has brought so much joy to the world.
Hailing from Paris, Clayderman has released numerous albums featuring his own work and
renditions of popular music, soundtracks and rearrangements of various ethnic music. He is
recognised as the “most successful pianist in the world” by the Guinness Book of World
Records. To date, Clayderman has sold over 150 million records and has gone on to
achieve 267 Gold and 70 Platinum status.
Richard Clayderman’s 40th Anniversary concert was organised by Starline Productions, and
made possible with sponsors Yamaha, and Hong Leong Bank and supported by the Kuala
Lumpur Convention Centre and the National Symphony Orchestra.
