Taiwanese pop singer-songwriter Eric Chou has been unveiled as World Vision Malaysia’s 30-Hour Famine Ambassador for 2020. The new ambassador will lend his voice to encourage more people to join him to give vulnerable children and communities a better future by breaking the limits on poverty.
As this year’s 30-Hour Famine Ambassador, 25-year old Eric Chou will be lending his support to extend World Vision Malaysia’s fight against hunger and poverty. “With my new-found knowledge, I want to inspire today’s youths, particularly those who have the abilities, to come together and make a difference for those children in need,” said Eric Chou.
Embracing the theme “Break the Limits”, this year’s 30-Hour Famine is expected to attract 28,000 participants nationwide. The event will be held over on 1 – 2 August 2020, culminating with a Famine Countdown on 2 August 2020 at Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam.
World Vision Malaysia hopes to raise RM2 million through the campaign for various local and international projects. The funds will be used to provide children and families in China, Democratic Republic of Congo, India, Mongolia, Myanmar and Vietnam with livelihood, and clean water and sanitation assistance. Closer to home, local beneficiaries are Fugee School, Good Shepherd Services, ElShaddai Centre Berhad, SUKA Society, Dual Blessing Berhad, Yayasan Sin Chew and World Vision’s Malaysia Assistance Fund.
