We woke up to very sad and shocking news about Linkin Park’s vocalist, Chester Bennington’s passing today. To think that we’ve been listening to Linkin Park since we were in primary school until this day and to add, it happened on the late Chris Cornell’s (vocalist of Soundgarden and Audioslave) birthday, both of them are known to be best friends as well.
Chris Cornell passed away two months ago around May due to suicide by hanging and that’s what happened to Chester too. He was 41 years old. Chester has always been open about his struggles with depression, alcoholism, and drugs and translating them to Linkin Park’s music which most of us relate to. His bandmate, Mike Shinoda cleared up the misunderstanding and confirmed the news on Chester’s passing in Twitter.
