HABIB, Malaysia’s leading jeweller, has unveiled HARTA, a new private public space dedicated to celebrating Malaysian culture, heritage, and art. Nestled above the HABIB Ampang II showroom, HARTA is a captivating space that houses a heritage jewellery museum, an art gallery, and a café.
The HARTA Heritage Jewellery Museum is home to a remarkable collection of over 800 unique pieces of Peranakan jewelry, dating back to the 19th century. The collection showcases the intricate artistry and craftsmanship of Peranakan jewelry, and provides a fascinating glimpse into Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage.
The art gallery at HARTA features rotating exhibitions of works by contemporary Malaysian artists. The current exhibition, “OPEN HOUSE,” showcases the work of 16 artists who explore the theme of domestic spaces. The exhibition is a thought-provoking exploration of the stories, objects, and emotions that are embedded within our homes.
HARTA is not just a museum or gallery. It is also a space for creativity and innovation. The HARTA Café is a welcoming space where visitors can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while taking in the sights and sounds of the museum and gallery. The café also hosts regular events and workshops that celebrate Malaysian culture and heritage.
HARTA is a dynamic and ever-evolving space. It is a place to learn about Malaysian heritage, to be inspired by the work of local artists, and to simply relax and enjoy the beauty of Malaysian culture.
