Pantone’s Colour Of The Year for 2018 is an ‘Ultra Violet’ that speaks of the future of originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking. And this shade of purple has become one of our favourite colours!
Not your typical purple, the ‘Ultra Violet’ brings curiosity and unlimited possibilities just like the night sky. A shade that inspires creativity and desire to pursue one’s uniqueness. ‘Ultra Violet’ has also been a shade with a spiritual context, where purple crystals such as Amethyst helps in healing and improving your spiritual growth. It also brings a sense of serenity where purple light is used during meditation too.
Musical icons such as Prince, David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix all have written and sang about shades of purple in their music. Each of them are visionaries and known for their experimental take on fashion, music and more while staying true to themselves.
We think this is a great shade to represent 2018, and it’s a big switch compared to last year’s Pantone Colour Of The Year of 2017 which was ‘Greenery’.
