A team of Polish artists such as photographer, Ula Kóska, makeup artist, Beata Bojda and other members collaborated on a project where they gave traditional Slavic costumes a modern take to bring awareness to the history of Polish and Slavic cultures.
Models donned in traditional Slavic attires together with these unique floral head wreaths which is an iconic part of Slavic folklore and is mostly worn during religious and secular ceremonies such as marriage, funerals and festivals.
Made with crepe paper and thin wires, these traditional slavic wreaths are handmade using the traditional method of twisting the crepe paper around the wires to form different flowers. We would love to learn how to DIY this so we’ll be searching for some tutorials online.
But all in all, we’re just in awe of the beauty of these photographs! From the models, makeup and costumes, they’ve definitely done one of the best tribute to honour their traditions. Feast your eyes on these photographs.
