The first collaboration of BAPE x Hajime Sorayama will be launching this Saturday, July 31. Known for predicting the fashion of tomorrow and in this latest collaboration with Hajime Sorayama, BAPE would like to share the taste of what the future feels like with you.
Sorayama brings his immediately recognisable “superrealist” style of feminine robots to the collection, swathing every item in silver or gold foil. And, as can be expected from Sorayama, the thread of futurism is carried through the collection in the details – from the shiny BAPE® and A BATHING APE™ logos, to the robot-screw buttons.
The collection comprises of a variety of items. A Coach jacket that’s specially chosen by Sorayama, to exhibit his appreciation of US culture; A unique tee, available in either black or white, that sees both brands sprawled across the front and back; The special BAPE STA shoe design has a transparent sole, enhancing that futuristic aesthetic and making it unlike any other BAPE STA; A fun tote bag and the shark Be@rbrick in 400%+100% and 1000% round off the collection, shimmering in those shiny colours. Of course, it wouldn’t be a BAPE collection without some camo, and Soroyama has skilfully embedded the LINE camo within this futuristic theme.
