Lily Aldridge just landed one of the most coveted gigs for a model.
Perhaps best known as a member of the exclusive Victoria’s Secret Angels club, the 30-year-old Aldridge has been tapped as the face of Bulgari, the luxury Italian powerhouse.
“Bulgari covets its status as the Jeweller to the Stars, so I feel privileged to represent this exquisite Maison, to be one of the sparkling stars in the Bulgari constellation,” she shared in the release.
The stunning supermodel will front the Bulgari brand campaign throughout 2017, with the first image, photographed by Mario Testino, already released. In the photo, Aldridge was seen wearing a Bulgari bangle in the shape of a snake on her left wrist. Jean-Christophe Babin, the chief executive officer of Bulgari described that the shot is meant to evoke archetypal “Roman opulence”.
When asked about the reason for choosing Aldridge, here’s what Babin had to say.
“I think Bulgari is much more than one person. A model is a better platform for us to communicate the many angles of the Roman lifestyle.”
Babin continued, “Lily is much younger and as a luxury brand, we have to talk to not only the people buying today but also those who will buy tomorrow. Lily has an advantage. Even though she is not Italian, she looks golden and exotic — very much I think like those (classic) Italian divas.”
Bulgari’s ‘Larger Than Life’ campaign will be released on October 14 this year.
