In conjunction with the unveiling of its latest September 2016 collection, Burberry has hosted an event for its distinguish guest at its Marina Bay Sands store in Singapore last Friday.
Guests at the event were able to watch a screening of the brand’s latest runway show, which took place on Monday 19 September as part of London Fashion Week, at the brand’s new show venue “Makers House” in London’s Soho. The entire collection is now available to purchase at the Burberry Marina Bay Sands store and globally through Burberry’s physical and digital retail network, shipping to over 100 countries.
The origins of the new men’s and women’s collections, which were shown together for the first time, are found in the spirit of Nancy Lancaster’s interior and garden designs and Virginia Woolf’s novel ‘Orlando’.
Inspired by a reflection on the way a house changes its character over the centuries driven by the people, clothes and cultures that inhabit it, the collection combines noble and authentic fabrics, blending denim and sweatshirting with cashmere and pyjama silks. It blurs masculine and feminine, casual and formal, night and day, all mixed together to create a new reality born of all the moments that have gone before.
As part of the in-store event, British singer-songwriter Georgie performed five tracks live including ‘This Ain’t Heaven” and “Life After Fear”, marking her first performance in Asia.
Guests were also invited to discover the intricate craftsmanship behind the brand’s iconic designs live at different stations throughout the store, including the Heritage Trench Coat.
