CELINE Announces Departure of Hedi Slimane, Welcomes Michael Rider

CELINE has announced the departure of Hedi Slimane, Artistic, Creative, and Image Director since January 2018. Under Slimane’s leadership, Céline experienced significant growth and solidified its position as an iconic French couture house.

To ensure a seamless transition, CELINE has appointed Michael Rider as the new Artistic Director. Rider, known for his work with Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga and Phoebe Philo at CELINE, will take over the creative direction of all Céline collections starting in early 2025. who will take over the creative direction of all CELINE collections starting in early 2025. His most recent position was Creative Director at Polo Ralph Lauren.

Rider shared his excitement about the appointment, stating, “CELINE is a Maison with values very close to my heart and a beautiful heritage to build on. I am honored to return and shape the future of the Maison together with the Céline team.”
