Weeks after it was announced that Margot Robbie is joining Chanel’s clan as a brand ambassador, the French fashion house has released the first campaign starring the Australian actress slash film producer and it is for Chanel’s first-ever ski line – Coco Neige.
Directed by Karl Lagerfeld, the advertising campaign pictured Robbie, decked in a white-mustard combo sweater paired with a Chanel logoed chapka lined with the maison’s signature tweed on the inside, against a clear blue sky with fluffy white clouds floating in the background. All eight visuals will be unveiled starting June 10th in July editions of leading international magazines.
Chanel’s Coco Neige collection is slated to arrive at Chanel boutiques in July and August alongside the fall ready-to-wear lineup. The line will include technical items like nylon ski pants, tweed-trimmed down jackets, and more casual pieces such as light green quilted coat with a Coco Neige logo and a black hoodie with a quilted camellia pattern as well as shearling boots and bags.
“This shoot was one of the greatest experiences of my career. The energy and vibe on set was so wonderful and collaborative,” Robbie said in a statement.
“One of the first things Karl Lagerfeld said to me was that we never need to take ourselves too seriously. He has such a creative mind and he knows exactly what he wants and the minute he captured it, we were moving onto the next shot. It was amazing.
“Karl Lagerfeld is a creative mastermind. I already knew he was a genius but to be able to spend time with him in person, I now know he is also just a wonderful human being,” said the actress who was in attendance at Chanel cruise show in Paris last week.
