Italian fashion Prada was proud to recently announce that actor Eddie Redmayne is now the face of Prada’s Fall 2016 ad campaign.
Best known for his Oscar-winning role in The Theory of Everything, Redmaye was nominated this year for his leading role in “The Danish Girl”.
Shot by Craig McDean, the FW 2016 menswear campaign made their first debut at Milan Fashion Week earlier this year. Some of the highlighted pieces include the nautical-flavored fare and the ultra 1970s patchwork-print jacket.
Miuccia Prada, the businesswomen behind the brand explained, ““(The collection) was like an excursion through history to find the moments that were heroic, passionate, difficult, to reflect what happened in history to see if we have something to learn about what’s happening now.”
With this in mind, the actor was the natural choice – “Redmayne is no stranger to immersing himself in historically significant characters,” reads the press release. “(He), here, assumes a number of roles: hero, villain, revolutionary.”
