KLFW 2024: Fiziwoo Takes Flight with Its “Night Butterfly” Spring/Summer 2025 Collection

Unveiling a collection steeped in rich symbolism and enchanting beauty, Malaysian fashion powerhouse Fiziwoo’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, “Night Butterfly”, takes us on a captivating journey at the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2024 last week. Often overlooked for their flashier counterparts, moths become the muse for this collection, inspiring a celebration of transformation, resilience, and hidden beauty.

This season, the designer duo behind Fiziwoo, Hafizi Radzi Woo and Izree Kai Haffiz, find inspiration in the often-overlooked beauty of the moth. Drawing inspiration from the moth’s natural habitat and anatomy, the collection’s colour palette sings with earthy tones – sand beige, sienna brown, and pale khaki – mirroring the subdued hues of moth wings. Deep jewel tones like emerald green, denim blue, and rustic gold paint a picture of the nocturnal landscape where moths come alive.

The “Night Butterfly” collection takes a flight of fancy, blending utilitarian fashion with the chic charm of the early 1960s. Imagine a denim safari shirt paired with a flowing midi skirt, or a shimmering metallic jacquard evening gown adorned with an oversized bow. For the gents, the collection offers relaxed silhouettes – denim baseball shirts, jorts, and linen shirts – perfect for effortless summer style.

Fiziwoo takes its signature utilitarian aesthetic a step further, showcasing a diverse range of fabrics with a focus on practicality and durability. Denim reigns supreme, featuring custom weaves that incorporate moth motifs and the brand’s monogram. A collaboration with a textile mill elevates denim pieces further with celestial motifs crafted from crystals and sequins, evoking the twinkling night sky. The intricate details extend to the embellishments, where crystal replicas of the moth’s anatomy adorn cocktail and evening wear, adding a touch of whimsical beauty.

Available in both Ready-To-Wear and Pre-Order formats from October 2024, this collection signifies a transformative leap for the brand, marking the beginning of a new era of design and innovation.
