In welcoming the year of the Rabbit, Levi’s launches a youthful collegiate-inspired Lunar New Year exclusives, come complete with festive flourishes for a dose of good luck. This Lunar New Year 2023 collection features a high dose of relaxed proportions and oversized baggy styles that ensures maximum comfort, with an emphasis on authentic self-expression.
Taking an off-beat view of collegiate and vintage-inspired fits, the new Levi’s collection is all about taking the popular trends of today and mixing them up with a more individualised, DIY approach. The major theme of this collection includes taking varsity vibes up notch with bold lettering and pops of colour for easy mix and match. A bit of ‘80s prep with ‘70s campus style, some looser ‘90s cuts blended bold letterings. And, going way back, some late 19th and early 20th century archival 501 fits and finishes thrown into the mix.
Women
Women’s bottoms feature a range of new fits this season, including the Baggy Dad jeans—a baggy mid-rise jean that’s loose through hip and thigh with straight leg. There’s also Selvedge Boyfriend – a high-rise jean inspired by the 501® that features a boyfriend cut and a zip fly.
Tops include a range of sweatshirts with graphics of the fun rabbit, dark wash Trucker jackets and loose tops with easy sleeves. Colours this season reflect the festivities, with warm tones like orange, red, and gold contrasting against darker tones of blue and black. It all brings that sense of ‘80s and ‘90s vintage that’s rooted in collegiate prep.
Men
New styles for men include a range of oversized rugby and polo shirts in different weight fabrics, paired with Stay Loose Carpenter jeans, our modern utility jeans with a loose but clean-cut silhouette. There are also a mix of graphic hoodies, crews with college-style chenille lettering and Trucker jackets – totally channeling the 90’s streetwear style.
The newest denim fits feature a range of vintage-inspired finishes for the denim lineup—including the 502 and 512. Look out for the festive detailing on selected men’s taper fits, designed to look like a favourite, well-loved pair of jeans.
