LOEWE will launch its final instalment with Studio Ghibli, LOEWE x Howl’s Moving Castle collection in early February. This stunning collection celebrates the beloved characters and backdrops of the film, giving its fans a chance to escape into its rich landscape and magical world of Howl’s Moving Castle.
From leather or shearling intarsia to embroidery on leather or textile, and decorated with crystal and stud inlays on leather, LOEWE x x Howl’s Moving Castle capsule collection features the film’s key characters — Sophie, Howl, fire demon Calcifer, as well as Markl, Heen, Turnip Head, and the Witch of the Waste. They appear on bags including the Puzzle, Flamenco, Hammock, Amazona, Luna and Bracelet pouch; small leather goods; jumpers and shirts adorned with appliqué details such as raffia or feathers that give each piece a magical aura of life. Scenes from the film are printed throughout these bags’ linings or splashed across their fronts as if they were alive. Feathers adorn jumpers, jackets and shirts; silhouettes allow them to stand out more than ever before as if they were actors themselves. The castle itself forms a collage of bits and remnants from our signature bags – like the Puzzle, Flamenco and Hammock – arranged together to create this distinctive shape. The film’s mischievous fire demon Calcifer also inspires a new scented candle in the LOEWE Home Scents range, a smoky fragrance with notes of incense, immortelle, patchouli, vetiver, roasted hazelnut, cardamom and elemi.
The LOEWE x Howl’s Moving Castle collection will be launched in stores on 2 February, alongside pop-ups in key locations around the world. A pre-sale on loewe.com opens on 1 February, allowing registered clients exclusive online access to the collection ahead of the launch. Selected Calcifer items will be exclusively sold online.
