When Louis Vuitton decided to release a series of bags and accessories printed with some of the world’s most iconic paintings earlier this year, it was favorably received by the masses and industry’s insiders. The wearable art pieces were such a hit that Louis Vuitton and contemporary artist Jeff Koons are launching a second collection featuring works by the likes of Claude Monet, J.M.W. Turner, Édouard Manet and others.
Further exploring the intersection of fashion and art, the second series of the Jeff Koons “Masters” collection reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to celebrate classic works of art through its collaboration with most influential artists of our times. In other ways, it piques the curiosity of people who have zero knowledge of art and to others, a brilliant nod to revered paintings like Reclining Girl by François Boucher; Delightful Land by Paul Gauguin; Luncheon on the Grass by Edouard Manet; Water Lilies by Claude Monet; The Triumph of Pan by Nicolas Poussin (exclusive for Maison Louis Vuitton Vendôme in Paris only) and Ancient Rome by J.M.W. Turner.
Using innovative techniques, every painting is meticulously printed so as to maintain the colour of each masterpiece. Remixing the artworks in the brand’s coveted handbag styles such as Speedy 30, Neverfull MM, Keepall 50, Montaigne MM and more, this second wave collab is totally a keeper for both art and fashion collectors.
The Louis Vuitton x Jeff Koons second wave collection is available in select Louis Vuitton stores from October 27th onwards. To find out more, visit louisvuitton.com.
