Major Drop and Supercrew, two of the strongest forces in Malaysia’s streetwear scene, have linked up for a limited edition capsule collection to commemorate new beginnings of the year. The 5-piece collection marks the first collaboration between the two local brands featuring key elements from Chinese New Year: lucky number 7 and prosperity horses.
Straying away from the usual red and gold, the offering takes on black, white and pink (because real men aren’t scared to wear pink), with three different T-shirt designs, a Coach Jacket and a cap. The lucky horses and triple 7 imagery are reference to Major Drop and Supercrew unique styles and business approach, resulting in a uniform that can be worn all year long.
The “Lucky 7” – a number that’s often associated with good luck – is applied in triple 7 motif across the back of tees and jacket, creating a statement that will spark conversations. Meanwhile, the prosperity horse is chosen as an ode to the year’s zodiac animal and to keep the ōng (read: luck or fortune) in check for the wearer. And since Dad’s trainers is very much in style this season, there’s also the Jackpot Dad Cap to complete your Chinese New Year lounge outfit.
