In honour of New Balance’s iconic grey heritage, New Balance celebrated this year’s Grey Day, which was fell on 14 May, with a pop-up exhibition at The Grey Box, GMBB from 13 to 15 May, to honour the iconic colourway that became the ultimate New Balance symbol. This year’s tagline ‘Make it Grey’ called to celebrate Malaysians who dare to be fearlessly independent and to encourage their success and achievement with their own interpretations of the colour grey.
At the Grey Day 2022 exhibition, New Balance introduced three bespoke iterations of the 327, XC-72 and 57/40 in various grey hues and new Essentials apparel. The new iterations of the 327, XC-72 and 57/40 are made of 50% environmentally preferred material in honour of the New Balance green leaf standard, the greenest grey has ever been.
New Balance also collaborated with global graffiti artist, Cloakwork for the three-day art exhibition. “Inspired by ‘Make it Grey’, I’m honoured to join New Balance to showcase what grey means to me. As a graffiti artist, I spend a lot of time under the radar and whenever I encounter a grey concrete wall, I see endless possibilities on a canvas and that is why for me, Grey is rebellious. Creating this piece was a reminder to myself and viewers to slow down, take a breath and enjoy life ” says Cloakwork.
