MONKI sets the season alight with stylish yet sustainable collection for Spring Summer 2018 where fashion-forward trends are meet with eco-conscious fabrics. The new collection is all about oversized classics and unconventional silhouettes where one can look oh-so-stylish yet show their support for sustainability. Looking towards using only 100% sustainably sourced cotton (including organic, recycled and Better Cotton) by 2020, MONKI also aims to use nothing but recycled or other sustainably sourced materials by 2030.
“We have high ambitions when it comes to both fashion and materials,” says Head of Design Caroline Carlryd. “We’ve been using 100% organic cotton for our denim since 2016, and in this SS18 collection we also use recycled polyester, polyamide and plastic. Style meets sustainability in a collection that we are very proud of.”
This season, denim gets funky-fied and more sophisticated while suits are redoed in true #monkistyle. Jeans and denim jacket are studded with pearls, redefining chic for the good old classics and suiting up just got playful in kimono-style blazer with oversized puffed sleeves and flowy trousers, and a pinstriped suit with a double breasted blazer and paperbag waist trousers.
Denim lovers will surely love the fresh styles coming in like denim trench coat, asymmetrical hem skirt, straight-legged Mokonomi jeans and cropped top. Not to forget, lots of stripes to keep you going this season and beyond in multiple colourways in the form of pantsuit, formal blazer, denim skirt, bag, jewellery and more.
