Swedish fashion brand, Monki is all set to open a new concept store in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur next month on 3 December, and this new store marks its seventh store in Malaysia.
The new store concept, dubbed “Dream Weavery”, is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, weaves its soft yet impactful colours through every part of the store – from floor to ceiling – enhanced with elements such as a Monki chandelier, wavy accessory stands, and an impactful, minimalistic entrance area. There is an eye-catching and colourful in-store installation, created by multi-disciplinary artist Nawwar Shukriah Ali, a collaboration highlighting the work between Monki and the local creative community.
In celebration of the upcoming store opening, Monki has teamed up with seven local female artists in a “Seven Sisters Salute Sisterhood” campaign, to encourage young women’s empowerment across the globe. These artists, who are made up of illustrators to muralists and visual artists, namely Dianne Tahir, Florence Khoo, Nurul Atika, Sarah Reza, Shari Jaffri, Sharina Shahrin and Shobhana Nair, have each created a work of art that speaks to what “Salute Sisterhood” means to them. Their artworks will be displayed in the new Monki store, and smaller versions of their work will be made available to customers as a gift with purchase during the store opening.
Monki will also offer gift cards to the first 100 visitors to the new store, goodie bags, a Monki style photobooth, as well as special opening day discount. Plus, the brand has teamed up with local female small business owners, whose merchandise in the form of candles, soap bars and beaded bracelets will be available as gifts when customers spend a certain amount.
The new Monki concept store in Pavilion KL will open its door on 3 December from 11am, with the festivities going on until 10pm.
