Mulberry Celebrates the Year of the Ox with a Limited-edition Capsule Collection

This Lunar New Year, Mulberry is celebrating the Year of the Ox with a limited-edition animation of the 100% sustainable Portobello Tote, launching exclusively on Tmall from 11th January.

The customised Portobello capsule, which will be available in all stores and digital concessions from 15th January, features a new abstract print inspired by the Chinese knotting techniques often used to create good luck charms for the new year.

The sustainable Portobello Tote champions the responsible innovation at the heart of Mulberry’s Made to Last philosophy. Each bag is crafted with leather from environmentally accredited tanneries and stitched with recycled thread. The hardware is made from recycled metal, and the silhouette is entirely made in the brand’s carbon neutral UK factories.

A collection of Small Leather Goods will also be released to complement the Portobello Totes. These accessories incorporate the watercolour-inspired knot motif, and also introduce a playful new Ox keyring that pays homage to this new Year of the Ox.

Mulberry is celebrating the holiday on WeChat with a new series of animated stickers that seethe brand’s joyful Mulberry character joined by a festive Ox. Virtual red envelopes have also been created, which followers can use to safely send new year money gifts online to their friends and family.
