Aspiring Malaysian designers are invited to participate in the National Costume Designing competition for Miss Grand Malaysia and Miss Intercontinental Malaysia of which both will parade the national costume at the international pageant.
The interested designers can submit their sketch design that depicts the best identity of Malaysia to the world and win RM5,000 cash prize. The top 5 sketch design will be announced at the Miss Grand Malaysia 2017 National Pageant coronation. Besides parading the national costume to the international stage, the designer stand a chance to win the Best National Costume Award at Miss Grand International and Miss Intercontinental respectively and win USD1,000.
HOW TO ENTER?
Submit a hand drawn or computer generated draft design (format JPEG or PDF minimum 1MB size), with a coversheet that includes the designer name and contact details (mobile and email) and is accompanied by a brief explanation of the National Costume in less than 100 words.
The design must be sent via email to contact@missgrandmalaysia.com and attention to Jude Benjamin, National Director, Miss Grand Malaysia Organization by 12 June 2017, 12pm.
Entries received after this date will not be entertained.
JUDGING PROCESS
A panel of judges invited by Miss Grand Malaysia Organization will go through the entries received and judging of entries will be based on the following criteria:
· Demonstration of Style
· Clarity of Inspiration and Theme · Quality of the Idea and Design
· Practicality
· Styling of the Garment SHORTLISTED ENTRIES
The best 5 entries will be announced at the Miss Grand Malaysia 2017 national pageant coronation on 5 August 2017. These 5 entries will go through a second round of judging determined from 50% public vote and 50% indoor judging.
The winning entry(ies) for the National Costume will be showcased at a press conference prelude to the send-off party for Miss Grand Malaysia 2017 and Miss Intercontinental Malaysia 2017 in October.
PRIZES
Best National Costume Award 2017 by Miss Grand Malaysia Organization with RM2,500 cash grant which will go towards the design and sourcing of materials for the final design.
The National Costume(s) will be worn at Miss Grand International 2017 and Miss Intercontinental 2017, alongside world-class designers.
The National Costume(s) and its designer(s) will be promoted on all communication platforms relating to Miss Grand Malaysia 2017 national pageant.
The National Costume(s) will be exposed to the world’s press, allowing the design to be seen by millions of viewers and followers of the Miss Grand International and Miss Intercontinental respectively.
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
1. One entry per designer and entry is free.
2. All entry must be received before 12pm, 12 June 2017.
3. Responsibility cannot be accepted for lost or mislaid entries. Incomplete, illegible, damaged, plagiarized or defaced entries will be disqualified. Late entries will not be accepted.
4. Only successful applicants / designers will be notified by Miss Grand Malaysia Organization.
5. Miss Grand Malaysia Organization reserves the right to use entrants’ work and images on a royalty-free basis. By entering the competition, permission to use the entrant’s work and image shall be deemed given. No payment of any kind will be made to the entrant.
