We’re at work more often than we’re anywhere else, why not dress up for it and not only look out best, but feel our best too?
Personally, I find dressing up for work sets me in a more positive frame of mind. I also feel better and portray more confidence when I’m at the office (when I rather be on an island sipping fresh coconut juice and not having to worry). It can also give you that little bit of motivation to wake up in the morning – especially on those dreaded Mondays – and it never hurt anyone who looked professional on the job.
If you’re in need of some inspiration for your work outfits, then we’re here to share some great ideas with you.
1. Keeping it black and white
I love black and I love white, and together this is a very chic look. But you may want to be careful and try to add a bit of accessories because you may end up looking like you’re in uniform if you don’t add a bit of your personality into it.
2. Bold prints
If you have a “louder” personality and love colour, then look for statement pieces. For example, a pencil skirt in a bold pattern or colour and pair it with neutral tone tops and accessories to balance the look. You don’t want to overdo it because your outfit may become distracting or a topic of conversation and in the workplace, you want to keep it professional.
3. Professional yet comfortable
If you’re constantly on the move and don’t have a typical 9 to 5 office desk job, then you’ll need to look for styles that offer comfort. Cropped pants, loafers, loose fitting blouses, will all work in your favour.
4. Fashionably chic
If you need to look your best because of the nature of your role requires you to meet people, or perhaps you’re in the fashion industry, then dress the part. Invest in key pieces like suits, tailored dresses, pencil skirts, fitted blazers – and make sure these are fashion forward and timeless.
5. Suit it up
Need to look like you belong in an episode of Suits? Do you work in a professional law office? Then invest in key pieces that allow you to build your own style while sticking to the corporate look. This is key to ensure you still keep your look individual and unique to your style, without compromising and becoming just another suit in the crowd.
6. Artsy Fab
If you’re in the creative industry then you have a bit of flexibility when it comes to your outfit picks. You don’t have to stick to conventional darker hues or corporate suits, have a bit of fun and go for bold colours and fun accessories.
7. Neutral tones
If black isn’t for you, neither is colour, the safest choice would be to go for neutral tones. These are great for the office and also very chic!
