Swiss watchmaker OMEGA made a name for itself as the creator of luxury watches that watch collectors widely adore. Now, OMEGA has made its first move into the world of eyewear with the launch of a collection of sunglasses for men and women.
Commenting on the foray, Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA says, “This is an exciting step for OMEGA because it leads our brand into new areas of opportunity. With our long history, there is real brand substance and authenticity to work with and we have ensured that it is truly represented in every pair of sunglasses.” He continued, “For customers, this is a chance to find new ways to express personal style and a passion for our brand.”
In partnership with Marcolin Eyewear from Italy, the first summer collection for both men and women takes inspiration from OMEGA’s heritage and range of watches.
Those who are familiar with the brand you will see similar elements found in OMEGA’s jewellery, including the flower pattern, iconic claws from the Constellation watch, flexible hinges that resemble a watch crown, the shiny black finish similar to OMEGA’s ceramic Dark Side of the Moon Collection, or metal injected frames inspired by stainless steel.
For each pair of sunglasses, OMEGA offers two different sizes, as well as two colour varieties for each model. All lenses, nose pads and facetted temple tips are engraved with the OMEGA name and logo. In particular, there is also a limited edition model honouring the Rio Olympics 2016 (only 2016 pairs have been made).
OMEGA’s sunglasses collection is now available at all OMEGA stores nationwide.
