A double award-winner at the 2015 edition of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), the Manufacture Piaget was once again in the spotlight this year when it received the prizes for the best ladies and Métiers d’art watches.
Since 2001, the GPHG has represented a prestigious annual rendezvous rewarding the year’s finest creations. Chaired by an expert in the field of collector’s watches, Aurel Bacs, the 2016 jury, composed of 27 professionals, choose the timepiece best illustrating watchmaking excellence in each of 12 categories.
Limelight Gala Milanese Bracelet
Launch in 2013, this glowing gold Limelight Gala model features an ultra- supple and flowing Milanese mesh bracelet, seamlessly integrated with the signature case and its voluptuous diamond-set bezel complete with voluptuous asymmetrical lugs. The Limelight Gala offers them remarkable comfort on the wrist thanks to a sliding clasp enabling a perfect fit to the nearest millimetre. This new watch illustrates the perfect synergy between Piaget’s dual watchmaking and jewellery expertise.
Protocole XXL “Secrets & Lights” Venice Micro-Mosaic
With its dial and its bezel adorned using the micro-mosaic technique, the Protocole XXL model showcases a unique mode of artistic expression. Italian micro-mosaic specialist Cesare Bella has delicately applied almost five thousand tiny glass tesserae side by side to reveal a remarkable view of Santa Maria della Salute and its high dome overlooking the mouth of the Grand Canal. Each colour is meticulously chosen to achieve an impressive array of delicately shaded colours. This spectacular timepiece will unveil in 2017.
