The Piaget Polo watch, introduced in 1979, became an iconic timepiece in the decade that followed. Last week the Swiss watchmaker released their first complete collection of only-steelwatches in the Polo series called the Piaget Polo S.
The Piaget Polo S displays the unique association of a cushion-shaped dial within a round 42mm case. For those who are familiar with the brand, the round shape embodies the distinctive Piaget Polo look, while the cushion-shaped inner dial may also be a nod to the brand’s coveted Emperador line.
The stainless steel beauty consists a meticulously hand-assembled link alternatingly polished and with a satin finish, provides the finishing touch.
The automatic Piaget comes with different colour options, including striking blue, silvered or slate-gray dial with horizontal line motif, while the Piaget Polo S Chronograph is available with a silvered or blue dial.
Led by newly-appointed international brand ambassador Ryan Reynolds, Piaget has also selected eight other men as “Friends of the brand” who will wear the new steel timepieces. Among them: Ryan Reynolds, actor and producer; Malcolm Borwick, polo player; Joel Dicker, novelist; David Goffin, tennis player; Jean- Francois Piege, chef; Michael B. Jordan, actor. In fact, Michael B. Jordan has been to the Piaget factory and was in attendance tonight, along with Ryan Reynolds, at the Piaget Polo S watch launch in New York.
