Danish watch company REC Watches finally makes its way to Malaysian shores at all leading Red Army Watches boutiques.
Established in 2014 in Denmark, the concept of REC watches is to salvage and transform classic icons into timepieces, such as Mini Cooper and Mustangs.
Particularly, they have done remarkable well with their first collection, the Mark I chronographs and the Cooper Range of subdued dress watches – albeit with chrome and British green racing hands.
Each watch comes with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of the recycled Mini on the back case, and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
If you prefer watches free of whistles and bells, there is a Minimalist range that shows the REC watches are equally capable of subtlety.
Also, there is a new collection that is bound to get pulses racing for all the right reasons: the P-51. Its dial is made from metal that was recycled from 1960s Mustangs. Everything, from the numeral fonts to the shapes of the hands, is meant to recall the old cars. To sum it up, REC is an exciting new brand that is just hitting its stride.
REC is now exclusively available at Red Army Watches – Pavilion KL, Tropicana City Mall, One Utama Shopping Centre and Gurney Plaza & mo.men.tum – Gatewaymall @ KLIA2.
