Hublot and The Hour Glass launched the limited edition Hublot Big Bang “Merdeka”, created by Hublot with inspiration from the ‘Jalur Gemilang’ to celebrate 60 years Malaysia’s independence at Antara Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur.
The venue was decorated with old school sweets and snacks and pop art portraits of Tunku Abdul Rahman then the guests were treated to a throwback of Malaysia’s favourite tunes back in the days from singer, Ushera.
To relive the past 60 years, famed historian YB Tan Sri Khoo Kay Kim, gave us great insight on the development of Malaysia through his eyes with the launch of his autobiography titled, “I, KKK: The Autobiography of a Historian”.
Limited to only 60 pieces and available exclusively in Malaysia, the Hublot Big Bang “Merdeka” features a 44 mm diameter blue ceramic case, uniquely developed by the Hublot Research and Development department, the core of Hublot’s most groundbreaking innovations. Accompanying the timepiece is a blue alligator strap adorned with gold stitches, paying tribute to the blue canton bearing a crescent and the 14-point star known as the Federal Star on the Malaysia’s national flag.
Highlighted on the sub-dial of the model is the visible number 60, colored in gold in reference to Malaysia’s 60th Independence celebration and the division of the hour into 60 minutes and division of the minutes into 60 seconds. The timepiece also features a date display between the 4 and 5 o’clock position and a scratch resistant sapphire case.
The Hublot Big Bang “Merdeka” timepiece will be available at Hublot Boutique Suria KLCC and The Hour Glass boutiques nationwide.
