Swarovski hosted its annual regional “Brilliance for All” gala at The St. Regis Hotel in Kuala Lumpur last Friday for the first time in Malaysia. The star-studded event welcomed
nearly 200 guests from across South East Asia to Kuala Lumpur to showcase Swarovski’s passion for creating contemporary designs that fulfill their 123-year commitment to quality craftsmanship and inspiring a sparkling brilliance in every woman’s life.
Welcoming Creative Director Nathalie Colin on her first official appearance in Malaysia, this year’s “Brilliance for All” event struck a dazzling chord with Swarovski’s lasting heritage and its ever-evolving creativity, unveiling the Fall/Winter 2018 “Crystal Tales” Collection, a collection that invites every woman on a journey to a new level of fantasy with its of-the-moment silhouettes and dialed-up vision of femininity.
Bringing together top influencers, media and special VIP guests from around Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines, this season’s star-studded event celebrated Swarovski’s legendary heritage by unveiling the Fall/Winter 2018 Couture Collection, Fall/Winter 2018 “Crystal Tales” Collection and Atelier Swarovski Exclusive Collection in Asia for the first time.
The “Brilliance for All” theme also inspired the Kaleidoscope Photo Booth, where celebs gathered for star-studded selfies.
The gala also featured a specially choreographed contemporary dance performance, fused with digital art on the 270-degree state-of-the-art LED screen that surrounded the Grand Ballroom.
Every season, Swarovski’s distinctive sparkle plays the leading role in a new story, inviting women to embark on a journey to explore and accentuate their many brilliant facets. With the Fall/Winter 2018 “Crystal Tales” Collection, that journey leads to a new level of fantasy with a color palette decorated in rich jewel tones and golden accents that effortlessly transit with an alluring air into any look, day or night. Dialing up Swarovski’s vision of femininity, this collection’s of-the-moment silhouettes include layers upon layers of long pendants and charms, bold cocktail rings, delicate designs and ornate earrings.
“Today, our daily life is impacted by a high density of information and visual pollution,” explains Creative Director Nathalie Colin. “It’s a fast moving – and at times overwhelming – environment requiring constant agility. The world of magic, enchantment and fairy tales offers an escape from the everyday life. This captivating world inspired the Crystal Tales Collection. This season, I wanted to offer women a welcoming and sparkling world to retreat to, where they can be inspired by storytelling, re-energized by richly crafted designs, and feel at their most brilliant.”
The Atelier Swarovski Fall/Winter 2018 Collection was also displayed for the gala. Founded in 2007 by Nadja Swarovski, Atelier Swarovski offers cutting-edge jewelry, accessories and home décor to push the boundaries of creativity by collaborating with the finest talents across fashion, jewelry, architecture and design.
The collection celebrated the return of Atelier Swarovski’s collaborations with designers Peter Pilotto and Mary Katrantzou, as well as welcomed the debut lines of editor and style icon Anna Dello Russo and designer Tabitha Simmons.
Also on showcase was Atelier Swarovski Core Collection, which included the Japanese-inspired “Graceful Bloom” collection. Created exclusively for the Asia-Pacific market, the 8-piece line featured a subtle yet sophisticated spectrum of rose pink crystals and blush pink Swarovski Crystal Pearls to symbolize luck, wisdom and wealth.
The festive evening celebrated each collection’s mesmerizing charm, highlighting Swarovski’s passion for creating contemporary designs that fulfill their 123-year commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Striking a balance between Swarovski’s lasting heritage and its ever-evolving creativity, this season’s “Brilliance for All” event welcomed local and international celebrities, trendsetters and personalities, including the “Swarovski Brilliant 8: A Tribute to Women Who Sparkle,” a celebration of the unique brilliant moments of multifaceted female talents.
This dazzling group of eight women from around Southeast Asia embodies the sparkling spirit of the brand and shine extraordinarily with their individual facets such as Malaysia’s very own Neelofa and Venice Min, Nittha Jirayungyurn (Thailand), Melissa Koh (Singapore), Elizabeth Rahajeng (Indonesia), Olivia Lazuardy (Indonesia), Marie Lozano (Philippines) and Nicole Andersson (Philippines).

The “Brilliance for All” gala got the party started with special performances by Malaysian singing sensation Yuna and DJ Curley, for a truly unforgettable night.
