After 9 consecutive years of successful One Day Without Shoes (ODWS) events, TOMS is no longer limiting itself and is now building awareness for the 6 unique ways TOMS works to make a difference by celebrating it all together for One Day on 12 May 2017.
Over the years, TOMS has expanded with 5 other gives including Sight, Safe Birth, Safe Water, Kindness, and Time. TOMS Malaysia hosted the TOMS One Day event where the public was invited to #StandWithTOMS at the TOMS Store in Mid Valley Megamall.
“TOMS One Day celebration allows us to showcase TOMS other forms of giving. We want to fully take this opportunity to highlight all 6 ways that TOMS gives back and it is the perfect way to celebrate what TOMS does to make a difference. We could never be able to achieve any of this without the support from our customers. To date, with the help from all your purchases, YOU have enabled us to provide over 70 million pairs of new shoes to children in need, restored sight for 445,000 individuals, provided 400,000 weeks of clean water, helped 70,000 mothers through safe birth and TOMS has also provided help to 44,000 youths through kindness,” said Ahmad Fahmi, Managing Director of AT Globalwear Sdn. Bhd.
The One Day event was filled with activities that were inspired from each of TOMS Gives. From a Virtual Reality experience where customers got to see with their own eyes where their other pair of shoes goes, to free eye tests by Menara Optometry professionals to fun sensory tests in the dark, to talks on safe birth by Nadine Ghows, Founder of Gentle Beginnings, and bullying prevention by The Befrienders KL.
As of 13th May 2017, TOMS Give Pins will be available at all stores with a minimum purchase of RM250, and you get to choose any of the 6 designs.
